How To Live With Failure And Stress

Tags

Failure and stress are two terms that the make perfect sense to someone deprived of happy hormones. Bad relationships, a fight with parents or siblings, work-place pressure - all are causes of stress and consequently failure.

So, how do you deal with these situations in life? The following might actually help:

1. Sleep Over It
Believe it or not, this actually works. A good sleep is a cure for almost any problem that may be disturbing you, at least temporarily. This certainly does not imply resorting to sleeping pills, but to clear your mind, get some rest, and start all over again. With failure and stress that’s all you can do – get over it.

2. Try Positive Reframing
Denial, venting and cribbing about failure will only drag you further into the pit. Instead, try acceptance and optimism. In other words, start preaching that everything happens for good. Meditation is a good way of keeping stress at bay, and bringing in positive, motivational energies.

3. Follow Your Dreams, Not Goals
If it was all about goals, there would not be even a single person on this planet who wouldn’t have tasted failure. But when it comes to dreams even failure seems like a chapter from which you learn and grow stronger. With dreams, stress is replaced by excitement and the drive to achieve the ultimate.

4. Don’t Let Any One Bother You
You don’t have to be rude in what you say or do, but you definitely have to bring the qualm to an end. Express your angst in an effective manner and simply letting someone know that they aren’t behaving nicely may work better than expressing your anger at them.

5. Don’t Get Personal
It’s one of the most common reasons that people experience stressed they take things personally. A project didn’t succeed; and they think they are to be blamed. Sometimes even a gag is taken to the heart. Not thinking too much would help you remain calm and composed.

6. Take a Break
Go for a vacation. A place that lets you breathe easy would be good. Choose the mountains or sea-side instead of a place brimming with people, a place that leaves you exhausted every passing day.

Failure and stress go hand in hand. There is no bang-on solution to live free of stress and failure; nonetheless, it’s worth giving a thought to the tenet that everything is temporary. So as you stare towards the sky pondering on your failures, take some time to count the stars too.
